" Minha ultima semana em coventry"

Na minha ultima semana em coventry foi uma semana tranquila, onde em todos os dias foram dias muito mais calmos, a não ser os dias do carnival talks e do book seminar onde a tensão foi grande pelo fato das apresentações serem em inglês, mas na verdade era uma soma de tensão por ter que entregar um "trabalho" com todo seu peso de um trabalho e a soma de uma língua que não é a sua língua nativa, mas para os pesquisadores que iriam apresentar o carnival talks a tensão seria em dobro pois além do carnival talks, no dia seguinte teriam que apresentar o Book seminar, contudo após as apresentações o clima se tornou mas ameno e muitas tensões passaram e a semana transcorreu normalmente, sem grandes mudanças, no sábado fomos a Londres eu, silvestre, Roberta, Marcelo e Rosely. Lá em Londres  descobrimos um mega evento que estava ocorrendo lá o jogo de estréia do NFL, com isso estava ocorrendo a promoção de divulgação do evento,  com uma mega estrutura, tudo muito organizado e grandioso. Após andarmos por vários pontos turísticos por Londres e observamos os mais diversos aspectos de mobilidade e acessibilidade numa metrópole, chegou o momento da volta para mim e para silvestre, ja Roberta, Rosely e Marcelo permaneceram por mais um dia em Londres. Nossa volta foi super tranqüila e após um dia interio que começou as 06:00 da manhã iriamos finalmente para o alojamento, mas após a janta.

"My last week in coventry" 

In my last week in Coventry was a quiet week, where every day was much calmer days, unless the carnival days of talks and seminar book where the tension was great because the presentations are in English, but in fact was a sum of tension by having to deliver a "work" with all its weight of a job and the sum of a language that is not your native language, but for researchers who would present the carnival talks voltage would be twice as beyond the carnival talks, the next day would have to present the Book seminar, however after the presentations but the weather became mild and many strains week passed uneventfully and without major changes, on Saturday I went to London, wild, Roberta, Marcelo and Rosely. Back in London discovered a mega event that was taking place there the opening game of the NFL, it was going to promote dissemination of the event, with a mega structure, all very organized and great. After walk for several London attractions by and observe the different aspects of mobility and accessibility in a metropolis, the moment the back for me and got wild, ja Roberta, Rosely and Marcelo remained for another day in London. Our back was super quiet and after an integer day that began at 06:00 in the morning we would finally for housing, but after dinner.

Londres e o evento da NFL by Silvestre Cirilo #CARNIVALPROJECT #LONRIO #LEGACIES4ALL

O sábado começou cedo com a ida à Londres. Trem da Virgin partindo da estação às 7h13 em direção à Euston. Por volta de 8h15 desembarcamos na estação e encontramos com Marcelo, Rose e Roberta. Hora de comprar o day pass e partir para conhecer alguns pontos da cidade.

Após algum tempo andando, alcançamos a Regent Street e, nos deparamos com um evento promocional da NFL sendo montado na rua, para promoção do futebol americano na Inglaterra e dos 3 jogos da temporada regular da temporada 2014-2015.

O NFL on Regent Street contou com diversas atrações e interatividade com o público, atraindo velhos e novos fãs. Os estadunidenses sabem como fazer um espetáculo e promover seu esporte. É impressionante como a gestão do esporte pode diferir de cultura para cultura. A estrutura montada é a necessária para a realização do que foi planejado, e o staff, quando comparado a eventos no Brasil apresenta um número menor, porém mais eficientes.

Esse benchmark é importante para entendermos como funciona a engrenagem da promoção de um evento e conseguirmos alterar a cultura brasileira de fazer tudo de última hora e não se preocupar com o consumidor, não pensando na sua experiência enquanto público potencial do produto ofertado.

Após o almoço, algumas compras e visitas a alguns pontos até o retorno às 19h, saindo de Euston para Coventry, novamente com a Virgin.

The Saturday began early with a trip to London. Virgin train arrived on the station at 7:13am. Around 8:15am landed at the Euston Station and met with Marcelo, Rose and Roberta. It’s time to buy the day pass and go to meet some points of the city.

After some time walking, we reached the Regent Street and, faced with an NFL promotional event being assembled on the street, for the promotion of football in England and 3 regular season games of the season 2014-2015.

The NFL on Regent Street featured several attractions and interactivity with the audience, attracting old and new fans. Americans know how to do a show and promote their sport. It's amazing how the management of the sport can differ from culture to culture. The mounted structure is necessary for the realization of what was planned, and the staff, when compared to events in Brazil presents fewer, but more efficient.

This benchmark is important to understanding how it works gear promoting an event and we can change the Brazilian culture to do everything at the last minute and not worry about the consumer, not thinking about your experience while potential audience of the product offered.

After lunch, some shopping and visits to some points until the return to 7 pm, leaving from Euston to Coventry, again with Virgin.

A semana começou com os preparativos para o CARNiVAL Talks a mil por hora. Finalizar a apresentação e preparar o texto foram as principais tarefas de segunda e terça. A apresentação foi finalizada Às 3h da manhã, restando o texto para o dia seguinte. Quatro páginas e meia de texto depois, só me restava passar o texto e, fazer a apresentação do Books Seminar.

Na quarta pela manhã, últimos preparativos do Book Seminar e auxílio à alguns colegas do grupo, que finalizavam a apresentação do CARNiVAL Talks. Rápido almoço e preparação da JAG 9 para o grande momento da semana. Fui o quarto e último a apresentar. Dominado por um certo nervosismo ao tentar improvisar durante a apresentação, me saí melhor durante as perguntas dos Dr. Ian Britain e Leonardo Mataruna. Sugestões foram dadas para melhorar o trabalho, que vai se transformando em um artigo, produto da estadia na Coventry University.

Na quinta, foi vez do Book Seminar. Novamente com a presença de Ian Britain, essa apresentação foi feita de forma mais relaxada, afinal era a terceira na terra da rainha. A tarde, após o fim das apresentações, o Prof. Francisco fez alguns apontamentos sobre o projeto.

Na sexta, logo pela manhã, fomos para o William Morris, nossa nova residência na Coventry University. Às 11h, fomos à Catedral assistir ao lançamento do livro “Through My Enemy’s Eyes”. Lunch time e escritório novamente para resolver algumas pendências da monitoria e buscar por papers e livros para o meu artigo.

The week began with preparations for the CARNiVAL Talks a mil por hora. End the presentation and prepare the text were the main tasks of Monday and Tuesday. The presentation was finalized at 3am, leaving the text for the following day. Four and a half pages of text then just I had left over the text and make the presentation of Book Seminar.

On Wednesday morning, final preparations of the Book Seminar and aid to some members of the group, that they were finalizing the presentation of CARNiVAL Talks. Fast lunch and preparation of JAG 9 for presentations. It was the fourth and last to present. Dominated by certain nervousness when trying to improvise during the presentation, I did better during questions from Dr. Ian Britain and Leonardo Mataruna. Suggestions were given to improve the work, that's turning into an article, the product stay on Coventry University.

On Thursday, it was time the Book Seminar. Again with the presence of Ian Britain, this presentation was made in a more relaxed, turned out to be the third in the land of the Queen. In the afternoon, after the end of the presentations, Prof. Francisco made some notes about the project.

On Friday, first thing in the morning, we went to the William Morris, our new residence at Coventry University. At 11pm, we went to the Coventry Cathedral to watch the launch of the book "Through My Enemy's Eyes". Lunch time and Office again, to solve some pending issues of monitoring and search for papers and books for my article.

Segunda-feira com a chegada do outono, estudantes e mais trabalho

O dia começou um pouco mais frio com a mudança da estação para o outono que tem em média temperaturas de 7 até 15 graus, mas no dia a dia em Coventry pelo que pude perceber continua agradável com sol e até mesmo calor. A mudança acontece mesmo no cair da tarde para noite, onde o cobertor precisa ser reforçado com roupas mais grossas.

Essa semana começou mais animada com a chegada dos estudantes, não que temos contato direto com eles, mas a cidade acaba ficando mais movimentada o que resulta em prós e contras. Os supermercados, filas, ônibus e outros estabelecimentos ficam cheios. Porém, o ar bucólico e triste da cidade vazia se renova pela quantidade de sorrisos, estilos e culturas diferentes.

O trabalho no escritório começou cedo como de costume. Além das atividades diárias de pesquisa, manutenção no blog, redes sociais, leitura, tivemos uma apresentação realizada pelo Doutor Mataruna sobre a importância de se usar o twitter e como manusear essa ferramenta. Após a reunião o bate papo informal e ao mesmo tempo sobre trabalho continuou em um restaurante Chinês próximo a estação de ônibus, no centro de Coventry. 

Comida chinesa não é algo que me agrada muito, por isso prefiro não me aventurar muito por essa culinária, porque comer dia a dia aqui não tem sido muito fácil. Por isso, alerto para a necessidade de fazer comida ou procurar situações práticas e saudáveis de comida. Do contrário, você fica em uma rotina com Fish and Chips, sanduíches e comidas congeladas.

Terminei meu dia no supermercado e cozinhando à meia noite até as uma e meia da manhã. Mas terminei o dia feliz, adiantando trabalhos, arrumando minhas coisas, preparando o próprio almoço. Uma rotina que pretendo continuar mantendo, talvez descansando um pouco mais cedo, porque horas de sono são sempre bem vindas!

Monday with the arrival of autumn, students and more work

The day started a little cooler with the change of season in the fall which has an average temperature of 7 to 15 degrees, but on the morning in Coventry from what I understand is still pleasant with sunshine. The change happens even in the late afternoon to night, where the blanket needs to be reinforced with thicker clothes.

This week started more happy with the arrival of the students, the city getting busier which results in pros and cons. Supermarkets, queues, buses and other facilities are full. But the bucolic air and the sad empty town is renewed by the amount of smiles, styles and cultures.

The work began early in the office as usual.

 Besides the daily research activities, maintaining the blog, social networking, reading, we had a presentation by Dr. Mataruna about the importance of using twitter and how to handle this tool. After meeting , we had a informal chat at a Chinese restaurant to talk about the work and others things.

  Chinese food is not something that I enjoyed, so I prefer not to venture too much about this cuisine because eating every day here has not been easy. Therefore, to warn the need to seek practical food or healthy food. Otherwise, you get into a routine with fish and chips, sandwiches and frozen foods.

I finished my day at the supermarket and cooking midnight until one thirty in the morning. I finished the happy day, adding jobs, packing my things, preparing lunch for tomorrow. A routine that I intend to continue holding, resting perhaps a little earlier, because hours of sleep are always welcome!

Primeira vez em Londres e coleta de dados no Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

A coleta de dados em Londres começou na sexta-feira (19) até o domingo (21), por isso parte do grupo de pesquisadores ficaram responsáveis por ir até a cidade sede das Olímpiadas e Paralímpiadas de 2012. 

Conhecer Londres pela primeira vez é um prato cheio de emoções, a cidade tem muitas atrações para os olhos, ouvidos, nariz, tato, paladar, pela quantidade de variedades você acaba se surpreendendo em cada minuto ao explorar a imensa cidade.

Na sexta-feira conhecemos a estrutura do parque olímpico e da minha parte fiquei encantada com o legado deixado pelo evento. O local que hoje é utilizado para prática esportiva, cultural, lazer. Segurança, limpeza, acessibilidade, organização, design, foram aspectos que marcaram nessa primeira visita. Não posso deixar de comentar na super estrutura do metrô nessa estação e o shopping que foi construído com uma enorme quantidade de lugares para comer, comprar e lazer.

No sábado e domingo continuamos explorando os bairros de Londres, próximos ao evento, o centro, e os pontos turísticos como o Big Bem, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Nothing Hill, como andar de metrô, ônibus, o deslocamento pela cidade.

O final de semana sem dúvida foi muito rico e contribui bastante para entender um pouco do que Londres se modernizou e cresceu com a realização dos jogos.

Data collection began in London on Friday (19) until Sunday (21), the group of researchers were responsible for going to the host city of the Olympics and Paralímpiadas 2012.

London for the first time is a dish full of emotions, the city has many attractions for the eyes, ears, nose, touch, taste, the number of varieties is huge.

On Friday we went to the structure of the Olympic Park and in my opnion I was delighted with the legacy left by the event. The local is now used for sport, cultural, leisure practice. Safety, cleanliness, accessibility, organization, design, were aspects that marked this first visit.

I can forget to commenting on the super structure of the underground station and the mall that was built with a huge amount of places to eat, shop and play.

On Saturday and Sunday we continue exploring the neighborhoods of London, close to the event, the center, and sights like Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Nothing Hill.

The weekend was undoubtedly very rich and contributes enough to understand a little of what London has modernized and expanded with the completion of the games.

No domingo, 21, Coventry foi sede, pela primeira vez, do Sky Ride, evento que promove o ciclismo por toda a Inglaterra. Organizado pelo British Cycling, Sports England e Sky, o evento trouxe uma extensa programação, que começou às 11h e se encerrou às 15h.

O conceito do evento, em minha opinião, volta-se a praticidade. Já no sábado, parte da estrutura era montada, podendo observar com a tecnologia é usada para a otimização do cronograma, com grande utilização de estruturas infláveis e próprias para não causar impacto ao local de montagem.

No domingo, por volta de 11h30, eu e Marco fomos observar o evento. Logo ao sairmos do Singer Hall nos deparamos com o trânsito fechado e toda uma estrutura de fechamento de trânsito com a devida sinalização e toda a segurança de trânsito necessária ao evento.

O circuito do passeio ciclístico marcou uma distância de 5,5km, com saída da Broadgate, ponto de registro dos ciclistas, que receberam um colete e acesso a serviços, som mecânico e a exposição de bicicletas usadas por campeões Olímpicos e mundiais.

Em outro ponto da cidade, em frente à Catedral de Coventry, bombardeada na Segunda Guerra Mundial, um espaço de maior interação com os participantes e o incentivo a participação das crianças.  A cultura na organização de um evento por aqui impressiona a quem está acostumado a forma como se organizam esse tipo de evento e a importância dada ao mesmo no Brasil.

Por aqui, percebi que o evento é feito para que o público-alvo vivencie uma experiência e aproveite o momento, trazendo toda a família para o evento. A imprensa local divulgou que mais de 8000 ciclistas fizeram parte da festa.

On Sunday, 21, Coventry was the seat for the first time, the Sky Ride, an event that promotes cycling throughout England. Organized by British Cycling, Sports England and Sky, the event brought an extensive programming, which started at 11am and closed at 3pm.

Already on Saturday, part of the structure was assembled, and observe with the technology is used to optimize an organization, with great use of inflatable structures and own not to cause impact to the mounting location.

On Sunday, around 11:30, Marco and I went to observe the event. Then when we left the Singer Hall we encounter traffic closed and an entire transit lock structure with proper signage and all the security of transit necessary for the event.

The circuit of the cycling ride marked a distance of 5km, with output of Broadgate, registration point of cyclists, who received a vest and access to services, mechanical sound and the exhibition of bicycles used by Olympic and world champions.

In another point of the city, opposite the Coventry Cathedral, bombed in World War II, an area of greater interaction with the participants and encouraging the participation of children. The culture in the Organization of an event here impresses who are accustomed to how to organise this type of event and the importance given to the same in Brazil.

Around here, I realized that the event is done so that the target audience experience an experience and seize the moment, bringing the entire family to the event. Local media disclosed that more than 8000 cyclists took part in the party.
