Tive a possibilidade de
embarcar no mesmo vôo que outros dois pesquisadores do projeto, Rosely e
Marcelo, o que facilitou não só a minha viagem, como a deles também. Embarcamos
no vôo da Lufthansa, que saía do Brasil às 22h20min do dia 03/09. Foi uma
excelente escolha porque, devido ao horário, tivemos facilidade para relaxar
durante o vôo, apesar do reduzido espaço das poltronas. Fizemos conexão em
Frankfurt e logo chegamos a Birminghan. Embora tenham sido 15 horas de viagem,
não me sentia cansada. Ao chegarmos, seguimos para o setor de imigração. Tensão
total! Isso porque durante os preparativos para a viagem, ouvi muitas
declarações negativas em relação a imigração e toda a dificuldade de ingressar
no Reino Unido, por isso, confesso que estava bastante ansiosa com este
momento.
Bom, lá estávamos e
tínhamos que passar. Mais uma vez, acredito que tivemos “sorte” por estarmos
juntos, pois, por se tratar de um único projeto, resolvemos passar juntos pela
imigração. Deu certo! Como o Marcelo já tinha estado no Reino Unido
anteriormente, ele foi o primeiro, entregou todos os passaportes (o dele, o meu
e o da Rosely) e aguardamos as perguntas. A primeira foi “o que você veio fazer
no Reino Unido?”, ao que respondeu “viemos participar de uma pesquisa” e
apresentou a carta convite da Universidade de Coventry. Foi o suficiente. Todos
aceitos!
Comemorada a entrada,
pegamos as malas, avisamos ao grupo que havíamos chegado, como solicitado e
partimos para a estação de trem. Não tivemos dificuldade com o bilhete e o trem
até Coventry devido a prévia experiência do Marcelo, como dito anteriormente. Não
pude deixar de perceber a limpeza dos lugares onde passamos, a praticidade e
acessibilidade a tudo que necessitamos. No trem, às 19h, quando imaginamos encontrar
vagões lotados devido ao horário do rush, encontramos vagões vazios, limpos,
confortáveis, onde um dos passageiros que se encontrava no vagão onde entramos,
usava seu laptop tranquilamente sobre uma mesa. Incrível! Fiquei realmente
encantada por conseguir sair do aeroporto cheia de malas e não ter a menor
dificuldade para chegar ao meu destino, mesmo utilizando o transporte público.
Ao chegarmos à estação de
Coventry, fomos recepcionados pelo Prof. Mataruna e os pesquisadores que já
haviam chegado, Débora Guerra e Marcos Miéres, que, após lancharmos, nos
guiaram até o local onde ficaríamos hospedados. Graças ao grupo, tudo foi muito
tranqüilo e organizado, nada de dificuldade até aqui. E vamos em frente...

Coming to the UK

I was able to board the
same flight as two other researchers on the project, Marcelo and Rosely, which
not only facilitated my trip, as theirs also. We boarded the Lufthansa flight,
that go out of the Brazil at 22 hours in the day 03/09. It was an excellent
choice because, due to the time we had it easier to relax during the flight,
despite the reduced space of the armchairs. Made connection in Frankfurt and
soon arrived at Birmingham. Although there have been 15 hours of travel, I didn’t
feel tired. When we arrived, we went to the immigration sector. Total stress!
This is because during the preparations for the trip, I heard many negative
statements regarding immigration and all the trouble of entering the UK, so I
confess I was quite anxious about this moment.
Well, we were there and
we had to go. Again, I believe we had "luck" to be together, because,
as it is a unique project, we decided to spend together by immigration. It
worked! As Marcelo had already been in the UK previously, he was the first,
gave all passports (his, mine and that of Rosely) and await questions. The
first was "what you came to do in the UK?", It said "come take a
survey" and presented the invitation letter from Coventry University. Was
enough. Everybody was accepted!
Celebrated the entrance,
we took the luggage, warn the group that had arrived as requested and headed to
the train station. We had no difficulty with the ticket and the train to
Coventry due to previous experience of Marcelo, as stated earlier. I could not
help but notice the cleanliness of the places where we spend the practicality
and accessibility to everything we need. On the train, at 19h, when we imagined
finding crowded wagons due to the rush hour, we found empty, clean, comfortable
wagons, where a passenger who was in the wagon where we come in, used his
laptop quietly on a table. Amazing! I was really excited to get out of the
airport full of bags and don't have the slightest difficulty to get to my
destination, even using public transport.
When we arrived at
Coventry station, we were greeted by Prof. Mataruna and researchers who had
already arrived, Deborah Guerra and the monitor of the day, Marcos Mieres, that after lancharmos, led us to
where we would be staying. Thanks to the group, it was very peaceful and
organized, nothing difficult here. And let's go ahead...
